Homosexuality - A paradigm in Indian Society

In recent times, India’s top court has rejected a plea filed by the government and sympathiser group to review the judgement given to Suresh Kumar Koushal and the other. As the judgement was not to the satisfactory for some group of people in society, there has been a huge hue and cry in the social media and electronic media. But the question that needs to be asked is what the majority of the educated public of India thinks about it.
In India the Indians are educated and brought up from childhood keeping in mind the moral and social values. These values are deep rooted and can never be shaken. We need to realise one basic rule of life; Right or wrong is often subject to societies whims of the time. Today many countries accepted the Homosexuality in their society. The western society today postures homosexuality as simply an "alternative lifestyle". Disney World hosts an annual "Gay Pride Day". Parades are held to honour homosexuality. Some schools even teach homosexuality as a lifestyle in their sex education classes but it doesn’t mean that the society which we live in has to accept that. In this multicultural society there will be never an open space for Lesbians or gay sexual activity. People in the street are fighting and supporting a cause which they hardly know it. I saw a photo earlier day in news paper, a man holding a placard written ”In the eyes of GOD all are equally loved”, when this statement is said in the placard of the protester does it means or include sexual activity, does GOD’s love relates to sex ? Well it is not a simple quote from bible , "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable" (Leviticus 18:22) and "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads" (Leviticus 20:13) ".People might argue that the quotation is a reflection of Judeo-Christian moral and ethical standard and being used to legitimate discrimination against sexual minorities. It has to be thought that religion or religious text does not condemn people but it condemns what they do.
Studies by various institute and organisation have put forward that there are background reason when a person becomes or tend to become a homosexual. No one is born gay or lesbians there are early life factors which provoke them to go into this and choose. Some of the notable reasons which has put forward are early exposure to pornography, abuse, traumatic incident. The same reason also changes a person into paedophile. Before we go into rights and demands it is responsible of the society and authorities to cure the causes.
In India homosexuality is a comic relief in Bollywood movies. Indians enjoy them on the screen, off the screen the same comic relief is a chocking factor for them. This because the Indian society is not mature enough to handle these sexual minority groups of people, until we can handle or give space to the homosexuality in our let this be kept on screen for comic relief purpose.
