I am not a fan of IPL but like to keep a track of the game. What surprised me in the recent times, in this short form of game are the cheer queens.
Well, I was watching the Pune Warriors versus the Delhi Daredevil match suddenly the movement of the camera went to a group of girls who were wearing saree cheering the team of Pune. Can you imagine that cheer girls wearing saree; I bet you won’t the word cheer girls would make you think of sexy girls with short sleeveless dress and pompon in the hand.
But, guess what you are wrong we have the Cheer Queens who sang and danced Bharata Natyam, Bengali dance, Gujarati Garba, Haryanvi dance, Maharashtrian 'Lavni,' Punjabi Bhangra, Mohiniyattam.
This is a very innovative and showcase which brings recognition to the rich and diverse culture of India at an international platform. Let’s the world know from this tournament that we have better thing to offer.
Well, kudos to Mr. Roy who has brought a wonderful thing in front of us and to me :-)
