Watching Ranbir popping up suddenly in front of team India and
giving tips to players and stealing Pepsi from behind and when he is caught
doing such mischief he replies back saying “Yeh T20 hai boss. Na tameez se
khela jaata hai, Na tameez se dekha” (This is T20 boss, neither it is
seen like a gentleman nor it’s played like a gentleman).
It would be true mantra if Dhoni and his co. would have
played like a goon with full of raw energy and thrashing all the other team on
the way to reach the victory cup. But what did we notice in this game, was
probably the worst fielding side amongst the top teams, their bowling was
average, the batting was inconsistent and the captaincy was conservative.
I am not a great intellect or a follower of this game but I do
have little knowledge to understand how things goes wrong when you don’t have a
plan on how to beat your opponent’s. As an Indian we are in pseudo happiness as
we have beaten Pakistan or Pakistan did not go to the final, if only winning
against Pakistan or Pakistan not going to final matters so much then I guess we cricket loving nation are not having pragmatic
attitude towards this game.
During Kristen time this team was in the pinnacle of 50
overs and Test formats the only thing that we can see is going downwards. It’s
painful and disappointing in losing the batting stalwarts. It is also disheartening
on seeing the ego clash between two top players of the team. Whatever the
reasons may be but these reasons seem to be affecting the full India Team.
I would say it’s high time for Fletcher to pitch
in and take things into his own hand and do the same like this predecessor has
done otherwise Sehwag might not have become the player that he was between 2002
and 2006 if John Wright
had probably not caught him by his collar at the Oval in 2002. Yuvraj Singh
might not have had the desire to come back fitter and excel in the 2011 World Cup
had Gary Kirsten
not rebuked him with his now famous, "Get your fitness in order. I think
I'm fitter than you" in 2010.
